Andrea Tomasi is a Vermont native who writes songs deeply influenced by nature and poetry. Her debut album was recorded outdoors, in the "Gunks" at Minnewaska State Park, NY. Produced by Jeremy “Searcher” Backofen (Felice Brothers), the album's sparse folk arrangements consist entirely of voice, guitar, and the drones and chimes of the wild. No walls, no studio, just microphones and a portable rig. This was partly the result of the damage Hurricane Irene inflicted on the Hudson Valley. The studio that had been Searcher’s home for years ended up under six feet of water in the wake of the storm, and though a year had passed when Team Love presented him with the idea of making and album with Andrea, he was still studio-less. At this point phrases like, “but do we need a studio?” started getting bandied about. The idea started to take shape once Andrea got on board, and so, with a careful eye on the quality of the microphones and the weather, Searcher and Andrea went up into the state park with a single goal; to make an album.
